Split spherical large-size bearing for mining industry

The proof of working long-term cooperation with a customer from the mining industry is the successful re-delivery of split spherical large-size bearing PLC 512-53.4CR. It is a special bearing used in surface mines, the specificity of which are cross-split rings and cage to facilitate its assembly and disassembly. It achieves respectable dimensions, the diameter of the outer ring measures 950 mm and the complete bearing weighs 639 kg. This bearing demonstrates again the precise work of our workers from the production plant ZKL Brno, which specializes in spherical and large-size bearings.

Innovation of axle bearings for freight wagons

In September, ZKL Group completed the certification of the upgraded axle roller bearing set for freight wagons WJ/WJP 130x240. The bearings have been certified in accordance with the 2016/797 Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) in accordance with the requirements dictated by the Commission's TSI WAG Regulation (EU) No. 321/2013, as amended by Commission Regulation (EU) No 1236/2013, No 2015/924, No 2019/77 and No 2020/387 in accordance with harmonised standard EN 12080:2017.

Building specialized workplaces for the wind energy programme in ZKL Brno

Growing demand for large-size bearings for wind power increases also requirements for their production, technology and staff. The ZKL Group invests annually in the reconstruction of production halls, modernization and expansion of the machine park and performs optimization of production processes. After last year's successful reconstruction and expansion of the heat treatment plant, this year follows a project of building a specialized central turning and central grinding halls for large-size bearing rings.

ZKL bearings for paper industry

ZKL Group offers its special and large-size bearings for entire range of applications all over the world. One of the latest projects in Russia which was successfully implemented with ZKL bearings was vacuum drum filter. This machine is a key technology in pulp and paper industry. It is a static application where drum rotates at speeds 3 – 4 rpm. During one revolution, pulp is filtrated through filter cloth, solid particles form a cake which is washed, dried and then discharged from the drum. This is repeated revolution by revolution.
